Panic disorders, also known as anxiety disorders, are sudden unwanted fear or stressfulness to unwanted situations. You may feel dread of losing your control. It is observed that it can come on very rapidly and need not have any specific reason behind it. Most patients feel that panic attacks are the most frightening and distressing experience faced them. Most people will get recovery through some behavioral and diversional therapies. (Roy-Byrne, P.P., Craske, M.G. and Stein, M.B., 2006)

Following are the main causes of panic disorders:

They are still unknown causes that lead to panic disorders, but some of the most likely reasons are listed below. These are some of the most observed causes of panic disorders out of the majority of the patients.

  • Family history
  • life issues like stress

How does valium work on panic attacks?

Valium is a group of diazepam drugs. It belongs to the benzodiazepine category, acting in our brain as an anxiolytic agent. It treats conditions like anxiety, seizures, alcohol withdrawal syndrome, etc. When influencing the GABA receptors, valium slows down the central nervous system (CNS).

And that action helps to decrease your feeling of nervousness and agitation and produces a sense of calm and relaxation. In this process valium also helps to reduce the intensity of panic attacks and panic disorders.  (Waddell, M.T., Barlow, D.H. and O'Brien, G.T., 1984)

Signs that you need valium to treat panic disorder?

Valium can treat panic attacks, and any mental disorder acts as an anxiolytic agent. The symptoms are listed below,

  • Anxiety disorder- this is the most common symptom of panic disorder. It ranges from mild to high or severe forms of anxiety. It creates a cycle of living 'in the fear.' It can also add a sense of panic and may cause you to have more attacks.
  • Seizures - A seizure is a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain: movements or feelings, and levels of consciousness. We are having two or more. Episodes at least 24 hours apart that aren't brought on by an identifiable cause are generally considered epilepsy.
  • Cognitive disorders- These disorders significantly impair an individual's cognitive function; normal functioning in society is impossible without treatment.
  • Hot flashes- Hot flashes occur when decreased estrogen levels cause your body's thermostat (hypothalamus) to become more sensitive to slight changes in body temperature. When the hypothalamus starts thinking that your body is too warm for the standard atmosphere, it creates a chain of events as a defense mechanism, 'a hot flash' to cool you down.
  • Rapid heartbeat- In tachycardia, an irregular electrical signal (impulse) starting in the upper or lower chambers of the heart causes the heart to beat faster. Tachycardia is the medical term for a heart rate over 100 beats a minute.
  • Chest pain: Chest pain can occur from a heart attack. Muscle strain, indigestion, reflux, reflux, inflammation in the rib joints near the breastbone, and shingles are other causes of chest pain.
  • Nausea - Nausea is that uncomfortable, queasy feeling you get in your stomach that makes you feel like you're going to vomit. A virus, a digestive condition, pregnancy, or even an unpleasant odor can successfully trigger nausea in any mental state.
  • Chills - Chills refer to feeling cold after being in a cold environment. The word can also refer to an episode of shivering along with paleness and feeling cold.
  • Dry mouth: Dry mouth, or xerostomia, refers to a condition where to keep your mouth wet, the salivary glands can't make enough saliva. Dry mouth is often due to the side effects of certain medications, aging issues, or radiation therapy for cancer.

Valium can be used for the person with the symptoms above listed.

Panic attacks in minor! How does valium act on children?

In minor periods mostly the children and adolescents will be affected and have the symptoms of heavy heartbeat and fear of losing control, shortness of breath, loss of ability to control in mind, feels so stress, and these are the minor attack of panic attacks. (Ollendick, T.H., Mattis, S.G. and King, N.J., 1994.)

Valium will help influence the GABA receptors in your brain slowly so that the Central nervous system will be slower, and it will help reduce the nervousness, agitation, and fear and produce a calm and relaxation in your brain; thus, valium helps in a minor panic attack and any anxiety disorders.

Slower alternative disorders for panic attack disorders?

If you are facing minor panic attacks, there are some alternative ways to reduce the anxiety. Thus, with the doctor's approval, you can try some therapies to reduce stress.

  • Set a goal that you have to relieve anxiety.
  • Always remember that alternative therapies will be helpful if you are facing mild symptoms of panic attacks. But it takes some time to recover.

Limit the caffeine

An early morning cup of coffee leads to decreased general activity and anxiety about the situation.

  • A study suggests consuming more than 1200 mg of caffeine will lead to some toxic effects and seizures, mainly in high-level consumption cases.

Avoid Alcohol

  • Some people will think of having alcohol to relieve stress and fear, but it will not be a permanent solution. It makes one addicted to the practice of alcohol consumption and leads to depression and anxiety.

Practice regular exercise

  • Early morning of walking, running, cycling, and jogging will play a healthy and balanced cardiovascular system since cardiovascular will help relieve stress and anxiety and improve your immune system.
  • The Anxiety and Depression Association of America declared even 5 minutes of aerobic exercise would be able to relieve your stress.

Practice Relaxation techniques

such as music therapy, yoga, and meditation.

Music therapy:

It relieves your mind from stress and depression, and some calm is present in your mind, and you can feel relaxed.

Yoga:

Yoga heals your mind and body. Spend time regularly without any interaction.

Meditation:

Sit in a calm, pleasant place and start meditating without any disturbance. Successful meditation will help you achieve the goal and result in positive outcomes to overcome the anxiety.

Conclusion

Panic disorders are related to anxiety, fear, and stressful situations. People will lose control to overcome the problems, thus following the drug and doing behavioral therapies to get a positive result. Consult your doctor for the dosages and use of the medication. As this medication is a federal controlled substance you will need a doctor's prescription for buying Valium to use for your Panic and Anxiety disorders.
